Dr Sarah Jane Delany has been awarded SFI funding for a new research project. The Emovere project focuses on the area of emotion recognition in speech. This project aims to identify the most appropriate acoustic characteristics and correlates to use in emotional speech analysis and to investigate how effective are advanced machine learning techniques for the recognition of emotion in speech.
The project will start in October 2009 and run for four years. It will fund two PhD studentships. Details of these positions are available under the Opportunities Page.
