Applicants should have the following attributes:
— Minimum of PhD or equivalent research experience (including industrial R&D) in computer science, maths, engineering or closely related discipline.
— Experience in software development, particularly in the implementation of machine learning algorithms, user interfaces or visualisation tools.
— Evidence of a strong research profile and publication record
— Proven, excellent programming skills – both front-end and back-end across a range of languages.
— Knowledge of data analytics methods and experience in managing and processing large volumes of data
— Ability to identify and fulfill the academic writing requirements for target publications
— Knowledge of some current state-of-the-art commercial data analytics tools

Candidates with one or more of the following attributes will be preferred:
— Experience working as a post-doctoral researcher
— Experience of designing and running user trials
— Experience of working with industry partners on research projects
— Deep expert knowledge of one or more of active learning, case based reasoning, natural language generation, clustering and segmentation algorithms, human behaviour modelling, captology, plan recognition, information retrieval, user experience design, recommender systems
— Ability to design, install and manage software development environments (e.g. code management systems)
