Current Research Staff and Students
My research is based in the field of Computer Graphics, specifically in perceptually guided animation and behaviour of virtual characters. I am interested in creating plausible virtual humans and groups. I am currently supervising PhD students who are investigating animation and behaviours of virtual characters in serious applications, and in interactions within Virtual Reality environments. I have previously worked as a postdoc and on EU FP7 and SFI projects, also focused on creating virtual agents/crowds for serious games and realistic virtual environments. I have a BEng in Electronic Engineering from NUI Maynooth, and a MSc in Cognitive Science from UCD. I received my PhD in Plausible Virtual Groups and Crowds from Trinity College Dublin in April 2011, under the supervision of Prof. Carol O'Sullivan.
