Part of my current PhD research is developing TechMate - a toolkit of best practices and techniques for recruiting and retaining female students across technical disciplines in HEI in Ireland and beyond. The project is sponsored by HEA and Huawei and supervised by senior academics at TU Dublin and Malta University and I am particularly interested in contributing to a better gender balance in tech internationally. My academic backgrounds are engineering as well as media and communications. I have been exposed to academic working environment through development of VR serious game CityQuest for cognitive research group in Trinity College Dublin. The application was to help older adults improve navigational skills and balance control and to reduce risk of fall. I also have 10 years of professional experience in digital marketing and IT project management in both, private and public sectors in Ireland. My research interests include gender equality, change management, ludology and VR.
