The Applied Intelligence Research Centre has a diverse team.
My background is in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, followed by a master's in Computational Neuroscience. As part of my PhD research, I develop machine learning models to predict short-term functional outcome for stroke patients. I use deep learning methods for medical image analysis to build reliable and explainable predictive models that can be integrated in the clinical setting to support clinicians’ decisions. My focus is to address problems with models trained on small imbalanced data and to provide solutions through techniques of optimization, regularization and explainability.
